Issue



When you attempt to repair or uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection using Add or Remove Programs, you receive Error 1324 indicating there are invalid characters in the path to the My Documents folder. There are no special characters in the path to the My Documents folder.

ERROR 1324 The path in 'My Documents' contains an invalid character.

 


Solution



To resolve this issue, uninstall or disable the Teefer2 Driver located in the Properties for all Network Connections. Follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network Connections.
  2. Right-click a connection.
  3. In the dialog, click Properties.
    Disable the Teefer2 Driver option by removing the checkmark
    -- or --
    Select Teefer2 Driver and click Uninstall.
    Note: Uninstalling the Teefer2 Driver removes it from all network connections
  4. Reboot the computer.
