This document describes how to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 10.0.x for Macintosh.


Solution



Uninstall Norton AntiVirus
  1. Quit Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh, if necessary
  2. In the Finder, open the Symantec Solutions folder in the Applications folder
  3. Download the Symantec Uninstaller

    ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/products/norton_antivirus_mac/ver9.0/updates/symantec_uninstaller_102.sit
  4. Double-click Symantec Uninstaller
  5. In the Uninstall Symantec Products window, check the following products if they are present:
    Symantec AntiVirus Corporate
  6. This entry appears only if the corporate version of Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh is installed:
    Norton AntiVirus
    Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect
  7. Click Uninstall
  8. In the Confirm window, click Uninstall to confirm that you want to uninstall Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh
  9. Type your admin user name and password, and then click OK
  10. Click Close, and then click Restart to restart the computer
