Issue



The LiveUpdate Administration Utility for Macintosh allows you to retrieve the latest Symantec Antivirus for Mac product updates and virus definitions. You can use these updates on an internal LiveUpdate server for distribution to internal clients. This product is not designed to download and host content updates for Symantec Endpoint Protection for Macintosh.


Solution



Download and install the LiveUpdate Administration Utility for Macintosh

  1. Download LiveUpdateAdminInstall.zip from: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/liveupdate/mac_liveupdate/updates/LiveUpdateAdminUtility/LiveUpdateAdminInstall.zip
  2. Double-click LiveUpdateAdminInstall.zip
  3. In the LiveUpdateAdminInstall folder, double-click InstallLiveUpdateAdmin.command
  4. At the prompt, type the administrator password and press return
  5. At "Enter Choice", type 1 and then press return
  6. At "Install (y/n)", type y and then press return
  7. Wait for the installation to complete, then press return to go back to the main menu
  8. On the main menu, type q, and then press return to quit the installer
  9. Quit the Terminal application
