- Additional information is now included in the scan log.
INSTALLING OVER PREVIOUS VERSIONS - CORRECTION:
In the Symantec AntiVirus Read Me file a reference to the document "Symantec AntiVirus 10 for Mac Installation Guide." This reference should instead be to chapter two of the Symantec Administration Console Install Guide - "Installing Symantec AntiVirus 10 for Macintosh" located in the Support folder on the Symantec AntiVirus 10 CD or disk image.
Symantec AntiVirus 10.2 - Released February 13, 2008
- Compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.10 and later (Tiger), and 10.5 (Leopard).
- Universal application optimized for PowerPC- and Intel-based Mac computers.
- Includes ability to "snooze" scheduled virus scans to happen at a later time.
- Includes verbose logging tools for detailed log history and improved troubleshooting (optional install).
- Fixes a condition where iPods were scanned by Auto-Protect, regardless of the iPod Mount Scan setting in Auto-Protect Preferences. The fix applies only to OS X 10.4.10 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard).
- Scan History now displays only virus detection information. Previous versions displayed scan history details.
- Includes the SymProtector module that protects Symantec applications in the "/Library/Application Support/Symantec" and "/Library/Application Support/Norton Solutions Support" directories from being renamed, moved, or deleted.
- Allows Auto-Protect SafeZones to use "wildcard" (pattern-matching). This feature allows the Admin Console administrator to specify a client SafeZone that matches a wildcard pattern. See the "SafeZone Wildcards" PDF located on the SAV 10 CD for information about using SafeZone wildcard pattern matching.
Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.1 - Released June 8, 2006
- On Mac OS X version 10.4 or later, Auto-Protect no longer scans files that are written, copied, or modified on a network volume from your computer. This prevents Auto-Protect from using resources to scan files across a network. As always, owners of network volumes should perform virus scans on their servers locally.
- You must have Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.0 for LiveUpdate to update to 10.1.1.
- This update is available for English and Japanese versions of Symantec AntiVirus.
Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.0 - Released January 30, 2006
