Issue

Symantec AntiVirus for Macintosh version 10.2 has been installed. The latest version of the Symantec Administration Console for Macintosh (SACM) is being used to manage it. When LiveUpdate is run on the client computer, the LiveUpdate summary lists an old version of the Symantec Administration Console for Macintosh client.

Symptoms
LiveUpdate summary lists version 1.0.1 for the client.

Solution

To confirm the version of Symantec Antivirus for Macintosh running with the Symantec Administration Console for Macintosh client, open the following file:
    /Library/Application Support/Symantec/SMac/SMacClientErr.log

The entries listed in the above log should be similar to the example below which shows that Symantec Antivirus for Macintosh version 10.2 is running with Symantec Administration Console for Macintosh:
    ================================================
    Fri Feb 29 11:32:36 2008 SMac Client started
    Version 1.0.3r016
    ================================================
Once you have confirmed the version of the SACM client, run the attached script below to update the version information that is displayed by LiveUpdate. The script must be run with root privileges.
