Problem



You install Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x, Symantec Network Access Control 11.x or Symantec Sygate Enterprise Protection on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. You notice messages in the Event Log stating that the service may not function properly.

Symptoms

Event log message for Symantec Endpoint Protection/Symantec Network Access Control:
"The Symantec Management Client service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly. "

Event log message for Symantec Sygate Enterprise Protection:
"Symantec Protection Agent 5.1 service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly."



Solution



The product is working as designed. The Event Log entries may be safely ignored.
