How can I enable debug logging for the Symantec Endpoint Encryption client?
Solution
To enable debug logging in the Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE) framework, follow the steps below:
- Edit the following registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Encryption Anywhere\Framework]
"DebugLevel"=dword:00000005
- Restart the "EAFRCliManager" service from the Windows Services MMC snapin
- Debug log files will now be saved to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Encryption Clients\TechLogs
- Zip up the TechLogs directory and provide to support for analysis.
To enable debug logging in the Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE) Removable Storage client, follow the steps below:
- Edit the following registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Encryption Anywhere\Removable Storage]
"DebugLevel"=dword:00000005
- Restart the "Removable Storage Mgmt Service" service from the Windows Services MMC snapin
