Problem
How to enable debugging on Sygate Secure Enterprise (SSE) 4.1 on Windows?
Solution
Enabling debugging on the Sygate Management Server (SMS) running on Windows will allow extra information to be saved to the standard web server logs.
To enable debugging follow these steps:
- Open in notepad the file "init.xml" in the "C:\Program Files\Sygate Management Server\Servlet" directory.
- Change the line "
" into " " - Change the line "
" into " " - Change the line directly after "
DebugLevel " from "4 " into "5 "
- Change the line "
- Restart IIS or visit the URL "http://localhost/servlet/ssj?reset" in a browser to restart the SMS and apply the settings
- Debug log files will now be saved into the "C:\Program Files\Sygate Management Server\Servlet" directory.
When finished with the debug session make sure to revert the settings back to their old values again, to avoid the log files filling up disk space.
