You want to know what files are available for Ghost that were not included when you purchased Ghost.
This document contains updated files for currently-supported Ghost versions. For a list of currently-supported Ghost versions, see the document Ghost technical support options.
- USB drivers
Ghost's USB drivers are the files Ohci.exe and Uhci.exe. These files are used in all currently-supported Ghost versions.
For a description of the problems solved by these and earlier versions of these drivers, see the following Ghost Knowledge Base documents:
- Error: "Bad or missing ohci.exe" or computer stops responding during startup with a Ghost USB Boot Disk
- Error: "Cannot find a USB controller" and cannot see the drive with the Intel 810 chip set
- Error: "Timeout ... the other computer is already in Slave or Master mode" with a USB cable
The following files resolve a Symantec Ghost 7.5 problem in which you run a Ghost Console Task that uses a Ghost Virtual Boot Partition on a client computer, and you see the message "Disk is either full or heavily fragmented. Unable to create Virtual Partition file." On each affected client computer, replace the old version of VPartition.dll with the attached new version. Or, run a Deploy AI Package Task from the Ghost Console to distribute the file VPartitionAIPkg.exe. This AI Package replaces the old VPartition.dll file with the new version. For specific instructions, see the document "Error: '...Unable to create Virtual Partition file...' and computer does not restart into the virtual boot partition."
This file is used with Symantec Ghost 7.0. Use this file for Symantec Ghost 7.0 when you are using Ghost with the 3Com Boot Services to distribute an image, and the client computers do not automatically restart when done. Symantec Ghost 7.5 and Symantec Ghost 8.2 already includes this version of this file.
For more information on the problem, and instructions for using the file, see the document Computer stops responding after cloning when using Ghost with the 3Com Boot Services.
The following file is version 2.01:
This file is used in Symantec Ghost 7.0. Use this file when your Ghost boot disk has a drive mapping to a Windows NT server, and you see an error regarding NTSNX or CMDS.
For more information on the problem, and instructions for using the file, see the document Error: "Could not load NTSNX driver...The CMDS service is not started..." while starting the computer.
This file fixes a known problem that occurs with Symantec Ghost 7.5 when using Acronis TrueImage Deluxe. To resolve the problem, replace your Ghost copy of the file Rawio.vxd with the attached copy.
Occasionally, Ghost Knowledge Base documents have references to third-party files. This section lists some of those files and where they can be obtained.
