Error: "Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file D:\Symantec pcAnywhere.msi"

While installing pcAnywhere, you see the error message "Error 1316 A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file D:\Symantec pcAnywhere.msi." The actual .msi file name may vary.
This problem may also appear as "Error 1305 Cannot find
This error occurs if there is a suspended installation that the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) is attempting to restart. This may be part of the pcAnywhere installation, or part of another program that you installed that uses the MSI.
NOTE: This problem may also be related to a past or current infection by the W32.Klez.H@mm worm. See the document The pcAnywhere Manager appears briefly and then disappears without displaying any error messages for further information on this worm and how to remove it.
To solve this problem:
- Uninstall pcAnywhere from your computer. See the document How to uninstall pcAnywhere from Windows NT/2000/XP for more information.
- Run the MSI Cleanup Utility. Running the Cleanup Utility will clear any suspended installations from the MSI. For more information about downloading the Microsoft Cleanup Utility, see the document How to obtain the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
- Reinstall pcAnywhere from the hard drive while booted in Safe mode. See the document How to install pcAnywhere in Safe mode for more information.
Another possible cause of this error could be related to a corrupt, missing, or older version of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). To resolve this problem, install MDAC version 2.51 or 2.6.
