Problem
You configure the On Command CCM server wake up on LAN (WOL) functionality and discover that devices which go into standby mode do not react on the WOL signal.
Solution
Your network interface device driver must support the WOL from standby mode function. Most industry drivers supporting XP do support this advanced Windows XP power saving function.
To configure advanced power saving options
- Click Start > Settings > Network Connections.
- Double-click Local Area Connection.
- Click Properties.
- Click Configure.
- On the Power Management tab, check "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby".
- Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
WOL should now work from standby mode.
