Issue

You are building a software package using Symantec LiveState Designer, ON iCommand, or ON Command CCM, and you need to know how to find the uninstall path.

Solution

You can find the uninstall strings for most programs in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Look for the key that represents the program you need to uninstall. The uninstall string should appear in the right-hand pane.

Notes:
  • In order to find the uninstall string, the program must first be installed on a computer. Any computer will do, as long as the OS version is the same.
  • In some cases, you may need to look for additional information in order to identify the correct uninstall string, as some programs have uninstall registry keys that are not easily identifiable.
