When I restore a Ghost image that was created using Ghost32
When trying to restore an image created in a PE environment, at the end of the restore you may get an error 11114 or CRC32 related errors.
The main problem with CRC in windows (WinPE) is that whenever windows (WinPE) access the disk, it will alter the CRC. It is due to how Ghost calculates CRC for NTFS partition.
Best Practice when creating an image in a PE environment: you will want to dismount all volumes using DiskPart utility from Microsoft. Then, you will need to add the switch -NoOSLayout to the Ghost32.exe command line. We strongly suggest using the switch -NoOSLayout for both creating and restoring. If you are not familar with using DiskPart, here is a link from Microsoft: http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/ca099518-dde5-4eac-a1f1-38eff6e3e5091033.mspx?mfr=true
"Error 1114" when performing a CRC check after restoring and NTFS image
The –CRC32 switch needs to be run after restoring the image and before rebooting the machine.
