Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 and M57p BIOS issue with iCommand 3.0 and LiveState Delivery 6.x boot agent

Symptoms
DHCP is configured with option 67, and it points to the boot agent (boot.ovl) from iCommand or LiveState Delivery
  • The Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 and M57p computer is configured to perform a "network" or PXE boot
  • The Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 and M57p BIOS version number is 37 or lower, with a BIOS release date prior to February 16, 2008
  • The Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 and M57p computer hangs or loops as it attempts a "network" or PXE boot



Cause



There was an issue in the BIOS for Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 and M57p computers

Solution



Please update the BIOS to version 2RKT38A (dated February 16 2008) or later. Following is a link to the Lenovo web site, where you can download the BIOS:
