What applications are known or suspected of preventing Ghost from imaging a system.
McAfee antivirus software. Deepfreeze. GDATA antivirus software. Autodesk AutoCAD 2007 - Unconfirmed. Any encryption software or applications that includes encryption. Bitlocker. SQL server 2000. In some cases, an image of a server with SQL 2000 could be created and and restored, but attempts to re-image the client over the production network may fail. Local and simple network re-imaging were successful.
Any of the following may be preventing Ghost from creating or restoring an image to a client machine. Some of these application have only been reported to block the cloning process, but have not been confirmed.
May require stopping the McAfee 'console' and uninstalling the McAfee client.

For information on using Ghost with DeepFreeze:
Disable the realtime-scanner feature of the antivirus software on the Ghost server.
Alternately add the following folders to the realtime-scanner exceptions list.
“C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Ghost\"
Autodesk AutoCAD 2007
Encryption software or applications that include encryption.
Resolving encryption conflicts will depend on the application. Removing or decrypting folders may be sufficient. Uninstalling the offending program may also be required.
Note: Removing hardware encryption is unlikely to allow Ghosting of the machine and may render the client unbootable.
Uninstalling SQL 2000 and it's related date has resolved the issue in some cases.
