Dashboards do not update in Control Compliance Suite (CCS) v8.6 Reporting & Analytics

Problem
Symptoms
The following symptoms apply:
- Performance degradation occurs when viewing a large list of evaluation job results.
- Thousands of Evaluation Results have accumulated in a CCS installation. The Evaluation Results user interface (UI) page slows down taking too long to refresh.
- The Dashboards do not update in CCS 8.6 Reporting & Analytics.
Solution
Install Quickfix (QF) 10106 and QF 10120. The CCS 8.6 February 2008 Cumulative Hotfix (CHF) must be installed before installing these QFs.

QF Installation Instructions for Databases Hosted on SQL 2005 Computers
PART 1: QF10106 installation instructions for databases hosted on SQL 2005
- 1. Stop SMC Server and SMC Job Server services in CCS 8.6 Reporting & Analytics.
- NOTE: Steps 2 through 5 must be performed on both the SMC Server and SMC Job Server computers.
2. Backup the following files from “
- a. BusinessLayer.dll (v8.60.360.10100)
b. BVAssessmentData.dll (v8.60.26.10000)
3. Backup the following file from “
- a. BVAssessmentData.dll (v8.60.26.10000)
4. Copy the following file from the quick fix package into “
- a. BusinessLayer.dll (v8.60.360.10106)
b. BVAssessmentData.dll (v8.60.360.10106)
5. Copy the following file from the quick fix package into “
- a. BVAssessmentData.dll (v8.60.360.10106)
6. If Control Compliance Suite (Reporting and Analytics) databases are being hosted in SQL Server 2005, open the SQL Server Management Studio in SQL Server 2005 computer and perform the following actions:
- a. Once connected to the server, click New Query button in the toolbar.
b. A new query window will open.
c. Choose the ComplianceManager database in the drop-down list.
d. Copy all the text from the SQL Script “CCS-86-QF-10106.SQL.txt” (this file exists in the QF package) and paste it in the query window.
e. Click the Execute button in the toolbar.
f. Make sure a message appears that reads “The database update succeeded” in the Messages panel.
7. Start SMC Server and SMC Job Server services.
8. Launch the console and verify the issue is resolved.
PART 2: QF10120 installation instructions for databases hosted on SQL 2005
1. Copy the following file from the quick fix package into a directory on the SQL server: bvsp_Results_ListRecentJobsDate.QF10120.sql
2. If Control Compliance Suite (Reporting and Analytics) databases are being hosted in SQL Server 2005, open the SQL Server Management Studio in the SQL Server 2005 computer, then perform the following actions:
- a. Once connected to the server, click the ‘New Query’ button in the toolbar. A new query window will open.
b. Choose the “ComplianceManager” database in the drop-down list.
c. Copy all the text from the SQL Script bvsp_Results_ListRecentJobsDate.QF10120.sql downloaded earlier, then paste it into the query window.
d. Click the Execute button in the toolbar. This will apply the new storedproc to the database, and it will take effect immediately.
e. Make sure the message appears “Command(s) completed successfully.” in the Messages panel.

PART 1: QF10106 installation instructions for databases hosted on SQL 2000

2. If Control Compliance Suite (Reporting and Analytics) databases are being hosted in SQL Server 2000, open the SQL Query Analyzer tool on the SQL Server computer, then perform the following actions:
- a. Choose the “ComplianceManager” database in the drop-down list.
b. Copy all the text from the SQL Script bvsp_Results_ListRecentJobsDate.QF10120.sql downloaded earlier, then paste it into the query window.
c. Click the Execute button in the toolbar. This will apply the new storedproc to the database, and it will take effect immediately.
d. Make sure the message appears “The database update succeeded.”
