Issue

How to specify custom settings and pre-install a UNIX agent for use with multiple Linux clones.

Cause

Agents cannot be registered to an Information Server before it is saved, because the public private keys (ppk) are unique and will not work with cloned images.

Solution

Install the agent on a GOLD standard Linux image.

  1. Connect and register the agent to the Information Server.
  2. Create and configure custom security settings as necessary.
  3. Un-register the agent from the Information Server using the command "./setup.sh d" on the GOLD image.
  4. Save the image.
  5. Agents on the clones must be re-registered to the Information Server as they are brought online.
