The Heath and Status report does not reflect the Query Engines and Slave query engines at the new CHF level after applying the Control Compliance Suite Data Collectors Most recent Cumulative Hotfix (CHF=x).

Why do my query engines not reflect the new update in the Health and Status report?

 


Solution




Verify the Query Engine version Method one;
Log-on to the RMS console
expand bv-Control for Windows
select configuration
select bv-config on the right panel
select one of the MQE
select product file versions
verify if that the CHF = x
If the value does not reflect the latest updated version. Apply the query engine update.
Then rerun the Health and Status again.

If the version shows the updated CHF level. Go to the next step.

Update the ECS.
Log-on to the RMS console
expand bv-Control for Windows
select configuration
select bv-config on the right panel
select the host on the left panel that has the ECS installed.
select action from the menu
select ECS
select begin ECS update

Log-on to the RMS console
expand bv-Control for Windows
select configuration
select bv-config on the right panel
select the host on the left panel that has the ECS installed.
select action from the menu
select ECS
select Enforce Sync
select select all
select Synchronize button - all should synchronize if they don't open a new case with the new error.

Log-on to the RMS console
expand bv-Control for Windows
select configuration
select bv-config on the right panel
select the host on the left panel that has the ECS installed.
select action from the menu
select ECS
select edit ECS database

Note you will get the following message select yes;



Look at the Query engines listed. Scroll to the right. under the QE Version header the newest version should be reflected. . Select ok when finished.

Then rerun your Health and Status check and verify that your MQE or SQE reflect the latest update.

Example;



If the update is still not reflected in the Health and Status the need to Recycle the BVIS or stop and start the following services may be required;

Bindview Query engine service
ECS service




IF you are continue to experiance issues with the Health and Status reflecting updates;
Powered down BVIS.
Rerun the Health and Status check was rerun.
Verify that all the QEs and Slave engines are now updated.
