Problem
When a non-administrator NS user tries to access the Agent installation screen, the screen displays an error and the following message appears in the log files:
The current user does not have required permission 'read' to load item 'Scheduled agent push to discovered machines item (for UNIX).
Note that a secondary issue of an incorrect error page also occurs. Please check the NS log files for details on the actual error noted above.Environment
Notification Server 7.x
Inventory Solution 7.0.x
Cause
The Unix push screen is using an incorrect security guid.
Solution
This is scheduled to be remedied in the 7.1 release of the Symantec Management Platform.
There are two workarounds for this issue:
1. Allow only administrators to access the agent installation page.
2. Remove the Unix agent rollout tab from the agent installation page. This is done by running the following sql command:
delete from AgentInstallationTab where Guid='9cedd2bb-db7a-4a99-b671-cfbb653b15f6'
To get it back you will need to reconfigure ULM product. This will recreate the removed item.
The secondary issue of the incorrect error page will be fixed in an upcoming service pack for SMP 7.0.
