Problem
When compiling some .WSIs in Wise for Windows Installer 6.2, the Version column information in the File table is missing.
Environment
Wise for Windows Installer 6.2
Cause
Solution
This issue is resolved in Wise Package Studio 7.0 and Wise Installation Studio/Express 7.0.
A hotfix is available for this issue for version 6 users of Wise for Windows Installer and can be found at ftp://ftp2.altiris.com/download/KB18990/. Please download WFWI_6_2_Hotfix_2.EXE and execute it on any machine that has Wise for Windows Installer 6.2 installed. This will correct the missing File Version issue.
**Note, if the original .WSI/MSI was created with Wise for Windows Installer 6.2, but you wish to compile it now with Wise Installation Studio 7/Wise Installation Express 7, you may need to go to Setup Editor> File table, version column, and add a number in the version field for the files you know have versions. (If they are blank) This way once the WSI/MSI is compiled it will rescan that information.
The hotfix that was created for this original issue, will not fill in a blank file version. If the version field is empty it is seen as a non-versioned file.
