How long will LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) 2.x retain Event Log entries?

LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x (LUA 2.x) will retain its Event Log entries indefinitely.

Events must be manually purged in order to remove them, though on a properly-tuned LUA 2.x server this is not necessary to improve performance. If the PostGreSQL database is indexed and maintained correctly, it should be possible to navigate from the first to the last page of the event log without any delay.

To manually purge events from the LUA Event Log:

  1. Log into the LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x (LUA 2.x) web site
  2. Click on the Event Log tab
  3. To purge events 1 page at a time:
    1. Check the Select All checkbox and click the Delete button
  4. To purge events less than a full page at a time:
    1. Check the checkbox(es) next to the event(s) to be deleted and click the Delete button
