Solution



Symantec maintains hardware testing for Symantec Messaging Gateway appliances running Symantec Messaging Gateway software for software version upgrade testing and verification for up to four (4) years from the Date of Sale from Symantec.

After four (4) years from the Date of Sale Symantec may discontinue testing appliance platforms against subsequent versions of Symantec Messaging Gateway software.

Software version upgrade testing and verification for an appliance is not a guarantee of hardware warranty or software support and addresses only the ability of an appliance to be upgraded and run a subsequent version of Symantec Messaging Gateway software.

In instances where the Symantec Messaging Gateway Appliance was originally purchased with five (5) years of hardware warranty support, the version upgrade testing and verification will extend one (1) year to cover a total of five (5) years of software version upgrade testing and verification  from the Date of Sale from Symantec. This extension applies only in cases where the five (5) years of hardware support was part of the initial purchase and does not extend to hardware warranty extensions purchased after the original Date of Sale from Symantec.
