Solution

Solution for Event ID 489:

1. The file is locked or in use.
2. A virus checker might have mistakenly quarantined a file. If running an ANTIVIRUS like MCAFEE on the affected server; try disabling that.
3. A flat file backup system or anti-virus software might be running against the database.
4. The permissions on the folder (such as MDBDATA) that contains the files for the information stores are not sufficient for the stores to function correctly.
5. A disk input/output (I/O) problem prevented access to a requested page in the database or to a check file. A disk or controller failure may have occurred, and access to the entire drive was lost, perhaps    temporarily. This issue can occur when the path for the check file (such as E00.chk) is not correct.
6. The path for the log files or the check file was changed before the system was restored.
7. The check file (such as E00.chk) is corrupted.
8. The Event Viewer log path is changed to a different logical drive.
9. File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) quota is created on the same drive
10. Repair Install of VMWare Tools without VMware VSS and reboot the Virtual Machine (VM).

Solution for Event ID 8229:

1. Check the writer status (using the command VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS) on the windows 2008 R2 VM & if any writer is not stable then try reboot & try the backup job from AVVI agent again.
2. Try to backup the System State of the Windows 2008 R2 VM using the Remote Agent.
3. Log on to the Domain controller with the BESA (Backup Exec Service Account) credentials.  Give Full Control to the BESA Account on the folder (On 2008 R2 VM)
