Problem
Clients still display local alerts even if the HP Client Local Alerts policy is disabled in HP Client Manager.
Environment
HPCMS 6.1.1105 HPCM 6.2.1011
Cause
Solution
For customers with HPCMS 6.1.1105, please download the attached utility on the right side of this page. Then, extract and install "AlertDisabler_Administrator.msi" on the Notification Server with HP Client Manager installed. Further installation instructions are contained in the "HP AlertDisabler 6.1.1001.0.doc" file.
For customers with HPCM 6.2, please review the notes below to workaround this issue.
Important Notes:- To avoid seeing local alerts on client computers with HP Client Manager installed, confirm that the following policies remain 'Enabled' in the console:
- HP Client Health Monitoring
- HP Client Local Alerts Policy
- To prevent client side notifications, simply disable the sub-settings in the policies for alerts that are not desired:
- HP Client Health Monitoring:
- Asset Change Alerts
- Disk Free Space
- Battery Charge Level
- Hardware Health Alerts
- HP Client Local Alerts Policy > 'Local Alerts Displayed' sub-setting.
- Asset Change Alerts
- Disk Threshold Alerts
- Battery Threshold Alerts
- Hardware Health Alerts
- HP Client Health Monitoring:
- Do not modify the collections that these two constituent policies are applied to. By default they should remain applied to the collection:
- All HP Computers with HP Client Manager Agent Installed.
