Problem
An upgrade installation of Backup Exec 2010 fails in the migration process and the Event Logs report that the "BEMIG.EXE" process terminated midway.
Solution
An upgrade
installation of Backup Exec 2010 fails in the migration process and the
"BEMIG.EXE" process terminates midway. The process is seen to terminate when it
is trying to migrate the catalogs. The following error is reported in the
Application Event Logs on the Backup Exec server:

Cause:
The above
mentioned problem is seen to occur when the User Locale for the user logged into
the Backup Exec server is different than the System Locale
Resolution:
The above
mentioned issue has been fixed by way of a hotfix. Please see the Related
