Snapshot error. Error EBAB03F1: OS error 2147754774
ERROR: Failed to have success running InstallVSSProvider function in MSIInstallVSS Provider Function
Solution
During the installation of BESR, the following message may have been seen: "ERROR: Failed to have success running InstallVSSProvider function in MSIInstallVSS Provider Function". However, the installation will complete. After a reboot following the installation, a file and folder backup may fail with an Error EBAB03F1. Volume backups work correctly and only file and folder backups are affected.
1 Click the Start button, and then click All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2 In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK:
dcomcnfg
3 In the left pane, under Console Root, expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer.
4 In the left pane, under My Computer, select COM+ Applications.
5 When you select COM+ Applications, if you receive any error message, read the following document to restore the COM+ Applications catalog: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135181
