Microsoft Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit versions, are supported Enterprise Vault client operating systems however there are several caveats to note. See below for supported listings including these caveats:

- Windows 7 32-bit is supported with the 8.0 SP3 and later EV clients but this client version will not support integration with Windows Search via the EV search protocol handler. (The EV search protocol handler provides the integration between Vault Cache and Windows Search which is the mechanism which allows the entire Vault Cache including metadata, full message bodies and attachments to be indexed and therefore searched using Window Search.)
Full Windows 7 32-bit support including Windows Search integration (via the EV search protocol handler) is provided with the EV 8.0 SP4 or later EV client.

- Windows 7 64-bit is supported with the 8.0 SP3 or later EV clients but this client version will not support integration with Windows Search via the EV search protocol handler (as described above).
Full Windows 7 64-bit support (including support for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office 2010) including Windows Search integration (via the EV search protocol handler) is provided with the EV 9.0 SP2 or later EV client.

Note: Searching for archived items via Outlook "Instant Search" when using Virtual Vault is still an option with both Windows 32-bit and 64-bit. This will continue to operate successfully however search results will be based on archived item metadata only.
