Problem
Performing a Bare Metal Restore (BMR) "Prepare to Restore" fails with error "V-128-749 Operation failed due to network problem. [ERROR] V-126-3 'bmrprep could not complete the requested operation.
Error
The "Prepare to Restore" process seems to take a very long time and finally returns this error.....
Environment
The error is most likely encountered when ....
- The BMR Master and BMR Boot Server are on different servers.
- The Netbackup Java console is being used to administer the Master server.
Solution
Close the Java console and run the "Prepare to Restore" using command line as follows ...
UNIX:
usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bmrprep -restore -srt <srtName> -client <clientName> -config <configurationName> -logging -quickformat
WINDOWS:
<Install_Path>\Netbackup\bin\bmrprep -restore -srt <srtName> -client <clientName> -config <configurationName> -logging -quickformat
