Problem
After installing Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS) the RAWS service remains in starting status
Error
After installing Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS) the RAWS service remains in starting status
System event log has following entry:

Event ID: 26
Description:
Application popup: beremote.exe - Unable To Locate DLL : The dynamic link
library EXCHMEM.dll could not be found in the specified path
C:\Program Files\SYMANTEC\BACKUP EXEC\RAWS;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\system;
C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem;
C:\Program Files\Symantec\pcAnywhere\;c:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\Program Files\Resource Kit\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\.
Solution
To resolve the issue perform the following:
1) Kill the beremote.exe process from the task manager on the server.
2) Copy the EXCHMEM.dll from Exchange server to C:\Program Files\SYMANTEC\BACKUP EXEC\RAWS on the problem server.
3) Restart the remote agent service.
