Problem
A restore job fails with 0xe0009744 when restoring individual items such as files or folders in the backed up 2nd VMDK file or later of a virtual machine.
Error
Final error: 0xe0009744 - At least one directory in the backup set contains items that are not supported by Granular Recovery Technology (GRT). Granular restores cannot be performed for these items.

Cause
This is an issue of Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) only. As of today, the following is being confirmed.
- The symptom does not affect the 1st VMDK file including C drive or partitioned drives. The individual items in the 1st VMDK file can be restored successfully.
- All the backed up VMDK files can be restored.
Solution
Workaround:
Please restore VMDK files using "VMware Redirection" to temporary virtual machine of ESX server (Figure 2 and 3), and add them to the virtual machine (Figure 4). You are able to find individual items (Figure 5).
