Problem

PC Transplant does not capture IPrint (Netware) printers. Using Novell's IPrint custom printer port mapping (ipp://servername/ipp/que name), PCT does not capture the printer

Environment

PTC all versions and Novell NetWare.

Cause

PCT is not designed to capture print server queues. This is true for Novell or UNIX print servers.

Solution

Altiris recommends changing the printers to send a print job to the server via an IP port. Some customers have successfully used the attached VBS scipt to discover current printer and and write the results to a file. Altiris has not tested this script and will not support it.
