Solution

Result:

The Deduplication folder on an iSCSI disk device shows up offline in Backup Exec.

Examples of these iSCSI devices include but are not limited to the following:

  • Dell PowerVault MD3000i
  • EqualLogic PS series
  • Other iSCSI based disk systems

Solution:

Add the drive/volume/mount point where the deduplication storage folder resides to the "Volumes and Devices" (for Windows 2008) or "Bound Volumes/Devices" (for Windows 2003) tab of the iSCSI control panel to ensure the resource is available before the Backup Exec Deduplication Services access it.

For Windows 2008

For Windows 2003
