Windows could not start the Server service
Error 1053. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
Solution
Issue:
After install / upgrade or adding license keys to the Backup Exec 2010 installation, the Backup Exec Server service (beserver.exe) hangs in a starting state.
Solution:
1. Stop
all of the Backup Exec processes. To stop the Backup Exec Server processes,
please follow instructions in Step 2.
2. Open
the Windows Task Manager on the Backup Exec server - Go to Processes tab - and
stop any "BESERVER.EXE" and "MSIEXEC.EXE" processes from the
list.
3.
Apply Hotfix 348284 (See Related Documents for the link to download the
Hotfix).
After
applying the Hotfix, reboot the media server and all Backup Exec services should
startup properly.
