Solution
SymHelp performs a series of required and optional diagnostic reports, which are listed below.
As the tool changes, additional reports will be added, some might be removed and others moved to or from required to optional.

- Is Symantec Backup Exec the latest version?
- Determines if the version of Backup Exec installed is the most recent version.
- Is Symantec System Recovery the latest version?
- Determines if the version of Symantec System Recovery (previously Backup Exec System Recovery ) installed is the most recent version.
- Are Symantec Endpoint Protection Exclusions Configured for Backup Exec Disk-Based Storage Devices?

- Does the system need to be rebooted?
- This check determines if changes to Windows, recently installed applications, or Symantec Backup Exec may require the system to reboot.
- The Windows registry contains several locations that indicate there are pending changes that require a reboot.
