Solution
How to activate Encrypted Communications on several agents
that are currently running as un-encrypted Veritas Configuration Manager
(VCM)
Steps:
1) Stop agent (locally "net stop emxagent" on Windows, on Unix "<agent_home>/6.1/bin/emx_agentd.sh stop)
2) Remove agent from the UI
3) Delete the following config files from <agent_home>/6.1/config
emx.properties
emx.properties.alt
4) Start agent ("net start emxagent" on Windows, on Unix "<agent_home>/6.1/bin/emx_agentd.sh start)
5) You will see it now in the Activations page. Click on Activate Agent with New identity, check the encrypt communication box.
To verify:
1) After agent comes up as Connected click on Communication tab and you will see:
Encrypt CommunicationsEnabled
