What does the Patch Management 7.X check to see if a reboot is needed?

Solution



The check for this is found on the Client at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Patch Management - 'RebootRequired' with a value of (1).

 

  •  

 

 

  • If the value is (0) then no reboot is required.

     
  • This registry key will not be populated for manually installed updates. The reg key is only created when the Patch Management Solution installs an update that requires a reboot.

     
  • Note: This registry key is not displayed until an update requiring a reboot is applied. Then the registry key is created. The Reboot Schedule will reboot the machine with a command for Windows to reboot on the scheduled time.
