Environment

SMP 7.0 SP3 (NS 7.0 SP3)
CMS 7.0 SP1

Cause

One of the assemblies required by the Event Console was not updated properly so the calls made to the previous version of the DLL used deprecated functions overload, causing the system to not operate as it should.

Solution

A repair of the Event Console from SIM resolved this issue.
