SQL Database restore or SharePoint SQL Database restore of a large database runs and then the Byte Count hangs.

Solution

When restoring a large SQL database the byte count listing of the job may stop with the job still running.  Backup Exec passes the data to SQL and waits for the restore response to proceed with the next step.
Note: Some databases may take longer to restore then it did to back up the database.

A debug of the Remote Agent on the SQL server may show the following reoccurring:

[3224] 03/19/10 05:11:53 SQLSTATE(42000) - Native Error(4060)

Message: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database "DATABASE" requested by the login. The login failed.

Backup Exec is attempting to login to the restored database to verify the restore has completed. It will repeat this action until the database is restored and the connection occurs.

Solution:
Wait for the restore job to complete.
