Problem
Using NetBackup to protect Novell OES2 cluster configuration
Solution
A Novell OES2 cluster can be backed up using NetBackup 7.0 much like a VCS or MSCS cluster can be backed up.
1) Install the NetBackup for Linux client software per the Operating System Compatibility Guide.
2) Verify the OES2 cluster uses virtual host names and IP addresses.
3) Add the virtual name to the Policy's Clients tab, then add to the Policy Backup Selections tab the file system path(s) to be backed up.
When a backup is done, it is done using the virtual name. If a node in the cluster goes down, the same virtual name can still be use to do backups and restores. The cluster should reconcile the actual location of restore data should a restore be done using the virtual name.
