Problem
Backup job targeted to Deduplication storage fails with error ""Deduplication Storage Folder 1:1" reported an error on a request to write data to media."
Error
"Deduplication Storage Folder 1:1" reported an error on a request to write data to media."
A backup storage read/write error has occurred.
Cause
Backup Exec does not allow standard software encryption on a job that is being sent to a deduplication folder. This occurs because data that is encrypted before it reaches the deduplication engine will not deduplicate.
