Revised installation packages and a patch for all currently available and shipping versions of Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions for Windows provide NO new product features or enhancements, but does contain installer and Config Checker binary modifications to address changes in third party code. In addition, for certain packages and versions, the revised package provides changes to installation behavior. Details on this update on a per package and version basis are as follows:

    The revised slipstream and upgrade packages for version 5.1 SP1 of Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows and Veritas Storage Foundation HA for Windows contains:

      1. NO new product features or enhancements.

      2. A modification to installation behavior to ensure that the proper Track Aligned Volume setting of 128 for Open-V devices, which can be applicable to particular HDS, HP and Nihon arrays, is properly configured in the registry at the time of installation.

      3. Updated installation and Config Checker binaries to address changes in third party code.

    The revised installation packages for Veritas Cluster Server 5.0  RU1 for NetApp, Veritas Cluster Server 5.1 through 5.1 SP1 for Windows, and versions 5.0, 5.0 RP1a, 5.0 RP2, 5.1, and 5.1 AP1 for Veritas Storage Foundation/Veritas Storage Foundation HA for Windows contains:

      1. NO new product features, NO enhancements, NO modifications to product functionality and NO bug fixes.

      2. Updated installation and Config Checker binaries to address changes in third party code.

    The patch for existing installations of all aforementioned versions of Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions for Windows contains:

      1. NO new product features, NO enhancements, NO modifications to product functionality and NO bug fixes.

      2. Updated installation and Config Checker binaries to address changes in third party code.

Instructions and Download Information:


Existing installations should be patched for the versions mentioned above and can be downloaded from here:https://vos.symantec.com/patch/detail/3743 .

Determining Updated release from original release:
1. In the download folder for Storage Foundation for Windows, Right click on Setup.exe and select properties
2. Select the Version tab

The File version field should be 5.1.10000.54 or greater. If the version is less than this, it is the original release and the updated release should be downloaded and used.

Symantec has removed all 4.x installation packages for the Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions for Windows product suite from external download locations.

    Standard Support for all 4.x versions of Veritas Storage Foundation and HA Solutions for Windows products ENDED on January 31, 2010. These versions are currently in Partial Support and the full End of Support Life will occur on June 18, 2011. Please consider upgrading from these legacy versions as soon as possible.

    If there is a reason that requires download access to the legacy 4.2, 4.2RP1, 4.2RP2, 4.3, 4.3MP1, or 4.3 MP2 versions of Veritas Storage Foundation and HA Solutions for Windows, please contact technical support for the binaries.
