Reports Contain no Data When Operating System Settings are non-English

Issue



A report is configured and run. However the report shows no data even when there are policy actions that were taken by Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE).
 

Conditions

  • Operating Regional Settings are not English
    Windows 2003
      1. Open Control Panel | Region and Language Options.
      2. Click the Formats tab.
      3. The value of the Standards and formats drop down list is not English.

    Windows 2008
      1. Open Control Panel | Clock, Language, and Region | Region and Language Options.
      2. Click the Formats tab.
      3. The value of the Format dropdown is not English.
  • SMSMSE version is 6.0.9 or lower.

 


Solution



Upgrade to Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 6.0.10 or higher or 6.5 or higher.

Workaround

Configure the operating system to use a US standard Date format with the following steps:

    Windows 2003
      1. Log into the machine where SMSMSE Administration Console installed.
      2. Click Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options.
      3. Select English (United States) from the Standards and formats drop down list.
      4. Click Apply.
      5. Click OK.
    Windows 2008
      1. Log into the machine where SMSMSE Administration Console installed.
      2. Open Control Panel | Clock, Language, and Region | Region and Language Options.
      3. Click the Formats tab.
      4. Select English (United States) from the Format drop down list.
      5. Click Apply.
      6. Click OK.
