Technical Solution

Issue

Symptoms

1.) The installation was changed from a monolithic installation to a distributed installation.

2.) One Data Processing Service (DPS) was removed from one server.

3.) One DPS was configured for only Data Collecting and had its own dedicated server.

4.) A second DPS was configured for only load balancing, evaluation, and reporting and
had its own dedicated server.

5.) The second DPS did not appear to function properly.

6.) The IP addresses had changed on some of the servers within the CCS installation.

Cause

After the second DPS had been installed & configured, it's IP address was changed. Once the IP address had changed, the security certificate for that DPS was no longer valid & caused the DPS to no longer function.

Solution

To resolve the issue use the following steps:
1.) Remove the target DPS from the CCS installation.

a.) From the CCS Application Server console, choose
Settings -> Map View.

b.) Choose the option Unregister DPS.

c.) Select the target DPS & then follow the
wizard for DPS removal.

2.) Uninstall the target DPS on the target server using
Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Reboot target
server.

3.) Using the CCS Certificate Management Console, create a
new security certificate for the target DPS server with the correct
IP address.

4.) Install the new DPS to the target server.

5.) Register the new DPS from the CCS installation.

a.) From the CCS Application Server console, choose
Settings -> Map View.

b.) Choose the option Register DPS.

c.) Select the target DPS & then follow the
wizard to add the DPS server to the CCS installation.
