What happens to a scan if it is scheduled to launch when the computer is turned off?
If the computer is turned off at the time of a scheduled scan, the scan will still likely run if the computer is powered on within the set time period configured. This time period is set to 3 days, by default.
If the computer is turned on after the set time period, (e.g. Day 5) then that set scheduled scan will not be initiated.
To modify the time period:
- Login to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console.
- From the Policies view located on the left hand side, expand Policy Components.
- Select Scheduled Scan Templates, and then double click the desired scan in the right pane. The Edit Scheduled Scan Template dialog box appears.
- Under the Schedule tab, in the Missed Scheduled Scans section, ensure that the Retry the scan within option is enabled and modify the days field as desired for your environment.
