When trying to install a dos automation partition on a HP T5740 client, the partition will install, but will not make connection to the ds server.  Linux or WinPE will install and connect to the ds server, why does dos not make the connection?

There is a known issue with installing the dos automation paritition on a HP T5740 computer.  Development is aware of this issue.  At this time, there are no future plans to fix this issue.  The only way to image a T5740 computer in dos is to do so in PXE and using the the Rdeployt.exe found in KB 52157.

If PXE is not an option to use, then Linux or WinPE (either version) will have to be used in the embedded automation partition.
