Issue

User gets an error when using a DS job to execute a spanned package that already exists on the client machine.  The error states "Missing Span File"

Steps to duplicate:
1. Create a PCT Package that spans multiple files.
2. Create a Distribute Personality task pointing to the personality package executable via UNC path.
3. Select Copy directly from source and then execute.
4. When this task is run, the AClient/DAgent will download the executable and execute it. Since none of the spanned files were downloaded, the package will prompt for the rest of the files.

Environment

Deplyoment Server 6.5, 6.8, and 6.9

PCT 6.1.1044

Cause

The "Copy directly form file source then execute" option is not supported with PCT packages.

Solution

Do not use the “Copy directly from File Source” option in the advanced options if the file already exists on the client.  Use the “Execute directly from File Source” option.
