Problem
Symptoms
An error appears "An error occurred in Data Query activity: Unable to retrieve list of Assets from ADAM: No assets were resolved from the directory, either due to insufficient permissions or an invalid job definition."
- The Asset Import Job is scoped to an Asset Group only, causing the Asset Import Job to fail.
Solution
Eliminate any of the following scenarios to resolve the issue:
1. Under System | Settings | System Topology, confirm that the DPS Data Collector is assigned to only one site. If the DPS Data Collector is assigned to both the default site and a named site, then the Asset Import Job may fail.
2. For Entitlement Import Jobs, the Configuration of a Control Point was not completed on directories marked as control points. After directories are imported as assets, make sure that directory assets are marked as control points and configured as control points before running an Entitlement Import Job.
3. Edit the Asset Import Job, adding a physical object to the scope such as a site, computer name, or domain. Then, run the Asset Import Job again.
