Issue



Exchange GRT (Granular Recovery Technology)  backups fail with the error: "0xE000FE1F - The device cannot be found".


Error



V-79-57344-65055 : "0xE000FE1F - The device cannot be found"


Cause



This error can occur if the Backup Exec Remote Agent Service on either the Backup Exec or Exchange server is logged in as a Domain Account.

 


Solution




1) Stop the Backup Exec Remote Agent Service.
 
2) Right click the service and select "Properties".
 
3) Select the "Logon" tab.
 
4) Select the "Local System Account" button.
 
5) Click "OK".
 
6) Start the service.
