Backup Exec Support Tool Report - "Is more than one version of Backup Exec registered with Windows Installer?"

Solution

This report examines the products registered with the Windows Installer to determine if more than one version of Backup Exec is registered.

The report checks the version of the following service "Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers" to determine which version of Backup Exec is active and displays all other versions detected in red.

During the upgrade of Backup Exec from one version to another, if multiple versions are found, the upgrade may not be able to determine the correct version needed for upgrading catalog files and the database schema.

For instructions removing the inactive installations of Backup Exec, refer to the link under related documents:
"Attempt to install license keys fail with invalid upgrade error "A version of Backup Exec later than or equal 11d is required to upgrade directly to Backup Exec version 13.0"
