Which versions of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) can this hotfix be applied?
This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:

Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP3, Build 1845

What issues does this hotfix resolve?

'Value cannot be null' error is returned when attempting to create placeholders during an archive run.

Which file does this hotfix replace?

EvFsaArchivingTask.exe     8.0.3.1845

How to install this hotfix:

Following steps need to be performed on All EV Servers in the site:

1. Backup the following file from EV installation folder:

   EvFsaArchivingTask.exe

2. Stop All Enterprise Vault Services

3. Copy the following file provided in the hotfix to EV installation folder:  

   EvFsaArchivingTask.exe

4. Restart Enterprise Vault Services

NOTE
The first archiving run for placeholder creation for Legacy files (files archived prior to EV 7.0) will take longer to process as the size of individual items is retrieved from the savesets and updated in the database. Subsequent archiving runs will run normally against those files.


How to Uninstall this hotfix:

1. Stop All Enterprise Vault Services

2. Restore the original SP3 file back to the EV installation folder:  

   EvFsaArchivingTask.exe

3. Restart Enterprise Vault Services
